Shipping Policy

Containers Yard is operated by CONTAINER YARD LIMITED, company registration number 11792002. This policy explains our delivery area, shipping fee, estimated delivery times and site preparation requirements.

Delivery Area

We deliver within the United Kingdom only. We do not offer international shipping.

Provide your full delivery address and postcode when requesting a quotation so we can confirm delivery arrangements before you place your order.

Shipping Fee

Our shipping fee is £500 (GBP). This charge is separate from the container price and will be shown in your quotation and invoice before payment.

The quotation will clearly state the applicable VAT treatment and total amount payable.

Handling and Delivery Times

Our estimated delivery times are:

StageEstimated time
Handling and preparation1–7 calendar days
Transit after dispatch1–3 calendar days
Total estimated shipping time2–10 calendar days

The estimated shipping period begins once payment has cleared and the order specification and delivery details have been confirmed.

These times are estimates. If circumstances affect your delivery, we will contact you with an updated estimate.

How We Deliver Your Container

Container delivery requires suitable transport, sufficient access and an appropriate unloading arrangement.

Before dispatch, we will agree the delivery method and unloading arrangements with you. Please do not assume that a particular vehicle, crane service or placement method is included unless it is confirmed in your quotation.

Site Access Requirements

Before ordering, tell us about any restrictions that could affect delivery, including:

  • Narrow roads, gateways or entrances.
  • Tight bends, limited turning space or restricted parking.
  • Overhead cables, branches or other obstructions.
  • Soft ground, slopes, weight restrictions or underground services.
  • Restrictions on vehicle access or delivery hours.

The required clearance depends on the container, vehicle and unloading method. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether your site is suitable.

Preparing for Delivery

Ensure that the delivery location is accessible and ready before the agreed delivery date.

The placement area should be suitably prepared to support the container. Clear the access route, open any necessary gates and arrange for a responsible adult to attend the delivery and confirm the agreed position.

Tell us your preferred door orientation and placement requirements before dispatch.

Unloading Responsibilities

Your quotation will confirm who is responsible for unloading and what equipment is required.

If customer-provided unloading equipment is agreed, you must arrange suitable equipment and competent operators. Unloading and placement can proceed only where conditions are safe.

Delivery Scheduling and Delays

We will contact you to agree delivery arrangements. Exact arrival times may be affected by traffic, weather, transport disruption or site conditions.

If you need to change your delivery address or arrangements, contact us as soon as possible. Changes must be confirmed before they take effect and may affect the delivery schedule.

Unsuccessful Delivery

If delivery cannot be completed, we will contact you to explain the reason and discuss the next steps.

Any proposed redelivery arrangements and associated charges will be explained and agreed before a further delivery is booked. We will not charge you for a delivery failure caused by us.

Checking Your Container on Arrival

Check the container against your order details when it arrives. If you notice damage, an incorrect unit or another issue, tell the driver where possible and contact us promptly.

Photographs and your order reference will help us investigate. This does not affect your statutory rights.
